Ice Cube Discusses BET Cypher With Rev Run

Ice Cube reflected on his blog about being apart of the famous BET Cypher with his two sons (OMG and Doughboy) and Rev Run and his two son as well (JoJo and Diggy).

What up fam? Last night I stood on a roof in Brooklyn wit my 2 sons (OMG & Doughboy) and the “King of Rock” Rev. Run wit his 2 sons (Diggy & Jo Jo) and we did the BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher. We killed it. Me and Run had 16 bars and our boys had 8 bars a piece. We had DJ Premier on the wheels and it was a beautiful night. Ya’ll don’t understand. I was a straight fan last night. I grew up on Run-DMC and having a chance to do a cypher wit the legendary DJ Run was a bucket list moment for ya’ boy. It was all love of course and we talked about a line he said in ’83 that set it all off, “If you say you heard my rhymes we’re gonna have to fight, Cause I just made the mothafuckas up last night!” Now that’s hip-hop. Just wanted to share that wit ya’ll. On my way back to Cali… Keep It Gangsta, Ice Cube

True HipHop Heads @fillmorerich3 and @MrSef

Big Rich and Mr Sef

Big Rich Mr Sef and Big Rich and Editor Jo'el Lumpkins

< Last night I attended a little situation down in Concord California were Bay Area’s own Mr. Sef , Big Rich and others came out to perform. Pulling up to the venue I didn’t see much cars out. My security “Big Malc” had mumble as we walk to the entrance “Are we in the right place?” I looked at the address on the building and match it with the text Mr. Seff had sent me and it matched up. The turn out wasn’t many due to “last minute scheduling“ Currancey one of the main promoters had mention. Big Rich called it “Sound Check” but the performance was real raw. All performers that perform last night I totally respect because they performed like they were performing in front of millions when it was only about 25-30 people in that joint. They didn’t disrespect hip hop by not going on in witch I have seen many time because of the lack of crowed. My Oakland Raiders hat most definatly goes off to all the performers last night for not disrespecting hiphip. p.s. Oh yeah shout out to the dude that was dancing 4hours straight without a water break that shit was epic. Lol - Jo’el Lumpkins | www.2ktrillion.com| twitter.com/jfresh707
